Gathering What Sustains Us

Autumn is my favourite season. I can always feel the changes in the air when autumn arrives. Breathing in that cool crispness tinged with memories of wood fires and warm cups off Oat milk.

So it’s not surprising that autumn is full of some of my favourite workshops. I allow autumn to be my transition to prepare for the coming winter And I look to nature too remind me how to do this. I watch the animals gathering their harvests Preparing to nurture themselves through the difficult times. I look to the skies and watch the birds gathering in communities for support and safety. I watch the changes in the woodlands as they transition beautifully into their dormant state. And I take the time to learn from what I see, knowing that I also need to prepare for the darker days and see the beauty in this ever-changing cycle of life.

In the next Soothing Season 6-week programme we will be exploring more deeply how we nurture ourselves, connect to nature, and work with transitions in this season. Each week we will spend two hours in our small groups exploring a theme through visualisation, art making, free writing, and sharing with the group. It is only through sharing that we discover how important what we have to share is. And it is only in seeing our stories mirrored in other people that we realise we are not alone. We see that there are other people in life looking for meaning, trying to find new ways to grow, and appreciating seeing this reflected in the people around them.

This is how I like to spend my autumns. Reminding myself how to connect to nature. Opening myself up to sharing with others and to hearing their wisdom. Reminding myself of who I am and where my strengths lie.

If you would like to take a look at the themes in the upcoming September soothing season 6-week programme then please click here to find out more. We would love for you to join us.

Stories dictate our world

I often say that my workshops are about people finding and sharing their stories. I create a place for people to slow down and connect to themselves and what often happens, as they share their art ...

Finding a space for you

Imagine this – sitting by a stream on your own, just taking in the sounds and having nowhere to go, and nothing to do.
